Michter’s Bourbon

It’s Toasted!

Classic bourbon elements. Vanilla and light cherry on the nose. Heavy vanilla on the palate with toasted coconut, toasted marshmallow, toasted bread, caramel, pecan and baking spice. Bitter oak finish. Mash bill reported to be 79 percent corn, 11 percent rye and 10 percent malted barley. The company traces its roots back to America’s first whiskey company in 1753. Small batch production. Very enjoyable dram at a reasonable price point. It is worth trying all Michter’s US1 expressions as they are all quality. A great introductory whiskey (read beginner but complex) is the US1 American Whiskey. If you ever find the 10, 20 or 25 year products from Michter’s at MSRP it is a very rare find. Some prices for the 25 year bourbon are over $5K.
